When the Huracan launched in 2014, there were concerns that Lamborghini had finally succumbed to the sensible folk at Audi. The Huracan was labelled as too practical, too sensible and not ‘Lamborghini-ish’ enough. This 2014 Avery Chrome Blue LP610-4 sitting on staggered PUR 20 and 21inch wheels featuring an FIE F1 Valvetronic Technology Exhaust should remedy any concerns about the Huracan’s ability to draw a crowd.
With an ungodly 449/kW/560Nm naturally aspirated V10 lurking beneath the bonnet, the Huracan’s sound track and performance is every bit as raucous and evocative as you would expect from an Italian supercar. 0-100km/h is taken care of in 3.2sec and a top speed well north of 300km/h makes the Huracan a worthy contender for its Ferrari compatriot of 2014- the 458 Italia, it does, however, fall short of the new turbocharged 488 GTB, in outright speed.
The Huracan LP 610-4 stands between a rock and a hard place with the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 570S both vying for supercar shoppers in the $500k circa. In an evolving automotive landscape where reduced displacement and forced induction are the new norm, the Huracan has defied the Ferrari and McLaren in retaining a naturally aspirated engine. The entry-level Lamborghini is likely the final aspirated incarnation before the 5.2L V10 is scrapped in favour of a smaller, turbocharged replacement that will struggle to live up to the audible theatre of the V10.
