Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Revealed

Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo have continued their resurgence overnight, revealing the new all-wheel drive version of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce.

The Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3-Series rivalling sedan is tasked with reinvigorating the struggling Italian car maker.

To begin, the all-wheel-drive Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will be offered with a choice of petrol or diesel powered engines. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 206kW of power and 400Nm of torque. While the 2.2-liter diesel variant produces 154kW of power and a healthy 470Nm of torque available from 1750rpm.

The Petrol and Diesel powered variants will both be fitted with Alfa’s new eight-speed dual clutch automatic and Q4 all-wheel drive system. Unlike its German all-wheel drive rivals, Alfa Romeo’s Q4 all-wheel drive system is designed to send 100 percent of power to the rear wheels, with up to 60 per cent of power able to be transferred to the front wheels when necessary.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia range is set to go on sale in Australia at the start of 2017. Alfa Romeo are yet to confirm when the new variants will be available.
