At $350,000, this 2012 McLaren MP4-12C is the entry point to the small and exclusive McLaren Australia owners club. For $350K you get a four-year-old car that has travelled just 901km- presumably this McLaren sat in a large stable of supercars. As you would expect, the car is in showroom condition and offers the lucky buyer the change to step into an MP4-12C for significantly less than its original $493,100RRP.
When the McLaren MP4-12C launched in 2012, it took aim at the reigning king of supercars- the Ferrari 458. This may seem like a rather impossible task, but let’s not forget the past success of McLaren in creating the fabled F1 road car. The mid-engine 12C bettered the 458’s performance figures and Nuremburg lap time- announcing itself as a serious contender in the supercar marketplace.
The MP4-12C’s 3.8L turbocharged V8 produces 441kW/600Nm and reaches 100km/h in 3.3sec. The performance figures alone make the 12C a performance car, however, it isn’t the astounding engine that draws most of the praise, rather the 12C’s sorted chassis that makes it impossibly fast on a race track.
