This 2012 Audi A1 is a race prepared, road going hyper hatch that has undergone a significant power upgrade and weight loss regime. The result of this drastic overhaul is a car capable of sub-1minute laps at lakeside stadium race track- not bad from a front-wheel-drive 1.4L hatchback.
The Audi A1 started life with a modest 1.4L twin-charged engine producing a respectable 90kW/200Nm, now however, thanks to a slew of aftermarket performance upgrades (listed below), it is now producing a ridiculous 180kW. To put that in perspective; with a stripped down weight of just 750kg, this Audi A1’s 225kW/ton is higher than the ballistic Audi RS3.
This A1 was inspired by the 495bhp A1 Quattro concept that was showcased by Audi at Worthersee in 2011. It’s difficult to list everything that has gone into the A1- so here are the highlights:
- Stage 4 Chip
- Sparco Seat Belts 6p point
- Brembo Front 8 pot + Rear
- Slotted & dimpled rotors
- Full Milltek Race Exhaust
- 323 mm Front Discs
- 185 bhp intake manifold
- Greddy Blow-Off Valve
- LOBA LO270 Turbo
- Sparco EVO2+ Racing Bucket seat
- Custom FMIC
