Video: Porsche Panamera Sets Nurburgring Sedan Record

In addition to transforming into one of the most striking models in the Porsche line up, the new Panamera is now one of the fastest.

Porsche has confirmed that the new 4.0L twin-turbo V8 Panamera Turbo has eclipsed the time of 7min 39sec, set by the incoming Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, by one second in setting a new Sedan lap record of 7min 38sec.

The record was set using the standard street tyres whilst the Panamera was still wrapped in pre-release body camouflage. Most significantly, the Panamera’s lap time bettered the mark set by its more expensive predecessor, the Panamera Turbo S, by 14 seconds.

The $376,100 4.0L twin-turbo V8 Panamera Turbo is the most powerful variant in the range. Producing 404kW/770Nm, the Sports Chrono equipped model will accelerate to 100km/h in just 3.6sec.

Order for the new Panamera have already commenced with local deliveries set to begin at the start of 2017.
