After lukewarm sales and a divisive reception, the Volkswagen Scirocco is set to bid farewell to the Australian market with the limited edition Scirocco R Wolfsburg Edition.
Limited to just 150 units, the Scirocco R Wolfsburg Edition will feature the standard 188kW/330Nm 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that has been used in the Scirocco R since 2011. Unlike the MK7 Golf R, the front wheel drive Scirocco R did not benefit from the more powerful and economical EA888 2.0L four-cylinder engine when it was updated in 2014.
Priced from $49,490 for the manual or $51,990 for the DSG (plus on road costs), the Scirocco R Wolfsburg Edition will feature feature enough additional kit to justify the $3000 premium over the standard Scirocco R. Bespoke features include, black mirrors, black grille, special edition 19inch alloy wheels and Recaro bucket seats. (pictured above).
Available exclusively in Orxy White Pearl or Rising Blue, The Scirocco R Wolfsburg Edition is the final Scirocco coupe to be offered in Australia. Limited to just 150 units, orders for the Scirocco R Wolfsburg Edition will commence in November of this year.
