The Nissan R34 GT-R Skyline is one of the most collectable Japanese cars in the world, its limited global distribution coupled with an unbelievable engine and chassis has propelled it to mythological status in the tuning community. First released in 1998, the R34 was manufactured in Japan and never received the go ahead from Nissan Australia for local sales, thus the limited R34’s that have made it to Australia are all the product of private import.
The All-Wheel-Drive R34 is considered to be one of the most effective tuning platforms for big power, drifting and outright drag performance. The highly tuneable RB26DETT 2.6L twin-turbo V6 produced produced a healthy 246kW from the factory, however, tuners quickly realised the potential of the RB26DETT platform, upgrading turbos and hardware to boost output well past 500kW at the wheels.
This R34 Skyline is one of only a few examples available for sale in Australia at the moment with most being resigned to car collections that are rarely relinquished. Modification details for this R34 haven’t been disclosed, however, the large front mount intercooler would suggest basic tweaking at the least. At $85,890 this is one of the most competitively priced R34’s on the market and is sure to drop jaws at just about any car meet.
