McLaren 688HS Image Leaked

The first image of the McLaren 688HS has been leaked online, showing off a more focussed, more extreme version of the McLaren 675LT.

After numerous sightings of the McLaren 688HS wearing body camouflage and various artistic renderings popping up online over the last few months, this is the first image of the 688HS, on what appears to be, the McLaren factory floor.

The McLaren 688HS, based heavily on the McLaren 675LT, is set to sit at the top of the McLaren range in the absence of the now extinct hyper-limited McLaren P1.

As the name suggests, the McLaren 688HS will churn out 688HP (502kW), thanks to McLaren’s 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine, only slightly more than the 496kW produced by the regular 675LT- capable of sprinting to 100km/h in 2.9sec. The biggest advantage is set to come in the form of a reworked chassis, improved aerodynamics and various weight saving measures that will strip roughly 40kg from the weight of the 675LT.

McLaren are yet to confirm how many 688HS they will make, however, rumours suggest that there will be fewer than 30 examples produced; all of which have already been accounted for.
