Aston Martin DB11 Lands in Australia

The future of Aston Martin has touched down in Australia

The Aston Martin DB11 made its Australian debut in Sydney overnight. The latest addition to the Aston Martin line up has been billed as one of the most important cars in the British manufacturers 103-year history as Aston Martin looks to bridge the gap between itself and its Italian and German rivals.

With a starting price of $428,032 plus on road costs, the DB11 is significantly more expensive than the $368,500 DB9 that it replaces. For an extra $60,000 the new DB111 delivers and entirely new body, engine and chassis than its predecessor.

The headline of the DB11 is the all new, in-house-designed, 5.2L twin-turbo V12 that produces 447kW/700Nm to propel the rear-wheel drive Aston to 100km/h in 3.9sec- 0.6sec faster than the naturally aspirated V12 DB9 that it replaces.

Aston Martin are yet to confirm the future of their engines, however, the new engine would suggest that the DB9 will be the final embodiment of Aston’s legendary naturally aspirated V12.

With orders already pilling up for the DB11, deliveries are expected to start in October of this year.
