When it was launched in 2013, the Mercedes A45 AMG held the coveted title of the fastest accelerating hot hatch on the market. Boasting the most powerful production four-cylinder turbocharged engine ever made, the 265kW/450Nm A45 is capable of accelerating to 100km/h in 4.6sec thanks to an impressive seven speed dual clutch gear box, all-wheel drive and a brutally effective all launch control system.

Since its inception in 2013, the A45 has had to stave off attacks from its hyper hatch German rivals, namely, the Audi RS3.
