Nero DS Opaco Ferrari LaFerrari Goes to Auction

If there was ever a reason to auction your house, sell all of your possessions and take out a loan big enough to make the 2007 Global Financial Crisis look like a minor indiscretion, this could be it.

This 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari is one of just three examples to leave the factory in the stealthy Nero DS Opaco finish, or, in layman’s terms, matte black. Further bespoke specifications include a black leather and alcantara interior, red stitching and “CAVALLO INFERNALE”, which translates to “the horse from hell”, written on the steering wheel.

3Aside from jaw dropping looks and an astronomical price tag, the LaFerrari is also quite a capable performer. The 6.3L V12 combined with a KERS battery system and an electronic motor deliver an otherworldly 708kW of power and 900Nm of torque- enough to take the LaFerrari from a standstill to 100km/h in 2.8sec.

5With only 499 of the Italian hypercar produced, and offered exclusively to Ferrari’s most important and influential customers, the LaFerrari’s original list price of more than $2million AUD when new, has only appreciated as those who missed out on first round offers look to secure their piece of automotive history.

2Set to go under the hammer at Monterey, California next month with only 211 miles on the clock, it’s possible that this is the lowest mileage LaFerrari that will ever be offered on the second hand market. Sadly, it’s likely that this low mileage example will be rarely driven, resigned to another car collection to appreciate over the coming years.

1Second hand examples have previously swapped hands for more than double their original asking price, and this incredibly rare Nero DS Opaco LaFerrari will be no different. We expect a sale price of more than $4million AUD.
