Fiat’s fabled tuning division, Abarth, have put forward a strong bid for the coveted title of ‘least practical hatchback’ with their race-ready two-seater micro hatch the 695 Bisposto. The Bisposto is the road going version of the Abarth Asseto Corse Racecar. With an RRP of just over $65K before you get into the options, don’t expect to see many on Australian roads. This 695 Bisposto features a slew of options including; The ‘Special Kit 124’ ($5000), The ‘Carbon Kit’ ($9000), The ‘Track Kit’ ($7000) and most importantly- the dog ring sequential gearbox ($15,000) for that everyday racecar feel.Power is derived from an uprated version of the 1.4L four-cylinder turbocharged engine found in the Fiat 500 Abarth. With 140kW and 250Nm on tap and tipping the scales at just over 1000kg, the Bisposto 695 conquers 0-100 in 5.9sec- impressive for a front wheel drive hatch.Whilst it’s hard to argue the practicality of a two-seater hatchback, there’s no denying how cool and special this little hyper hatch is. The exclusivity is sure to make this a future classic, however, we do expect these to depreciate before they become true collectors items.
