In 2004 the Volkswagen Golf R32 Mk4 marked a turning point for hot hatches; quick was no longer good enough, now, they needed to be fast, sound good and still be practical enough to do the shopping. The recipe for the R32 was simple, take a Volkswagen Golf, add a 3.2L V6 and throw in all wheel drive to make sure it can get that power down in any weather.
The fourth generation R32 was limited to just 200 units in Australia. Each car is individually numbered making each model a unique collectors item. Numbers are estimated to be in the vicinity of 150 in 2016 with a number of R32’s written off by some over enthusiastic drivers.
The value of fourth generation R32’s has remained steady over the last few years. We expect low kilometre, well kept examples to appreciate over the coming years. The Fourth Generation R32 represents one of the final naturally aspirated hot hatches.
