Mazzanti Automobil- Italy’s Most Powerful Car

It’s not a Ferrari or Lamborghini, it’s a Mazzanti- wait, what?

Italian supercar maker Mazzanti Automobili has released details of a 7.2L V8 monster that produces a ridiculous 736kW/1200Nm. The 1300kg coupe is called the Evantra Millecavalli and claims to be the most powerful Italian road car ever made.

The engine is a highly tweaked version of the General Motors LS7 V8 that features in American muscle car heroes such as the Corvette Z06. For those who know a bit about the American tuning scene, they will be intimately familiar with the LS7 engine that has been used by tuners as an affordable gateway to huge power figures in everything from a Honda Civic, to a Toyota Supra’s as well as pick-up trucks.

The Tuscan car maker has not yet revealed how many of the limited edition Mazzanti they are going to release with further details and official figures set to be released at the upcoming Turin Motorshow.

Based on previous models we can predict that the Evantra Millecavalli will be priced like a true hypercar with an equivalent price tag well over $1M AUD. The question is, who is going to pass up a Lamborghini or Ferrari in favour of a modified GM motor on an unproved platform? We’ll have to wait and see.
