Audi R8 V10 Ad Banned: Video

A disgruntled viewer with more time than sense has had an advertisement for the new Audi R8 V10 banned from television screens across the UK.

After citing what they believed to be the promotion of ‘unsafe and irresponsible driving’, the disgruntled viewer penned a letter to United Kingdom’s Advertising Standards Authority, who swiftly ruled that the advertisement did indeed perpetuate such abhorrent behaviour to the minds of susceptible would-be Lewis Hamilton’s across the UK.

The new Audi R8 advertisement, created by Bartle Bogle Hegarty advertising agency, shows the perspective of the new Audi R8 V10 Plus through the eye of the driver, backed by the sonorous V10 shifting its way through the gears as the Audi R8 reaches, what sounds to be, antisocial speeds.

Here’s where things start to get confusing, the advertisement is filmed on a closed race-track. Audi has pre-planned the response of the overly-cautious, rule loving audience by filming the advertisement in closed race track conditions. Which begs the question, what’s the issue?
